All paints are not the same, from the number and amount of colorants used to produce the depth of tone and richness, to the binder and solids that make up the coatings themselves.
No matter how skilled the surface preparation, using an inferior quality coating can both shorten the lifespan of the paint job and spoil the finish. We use the following products to match the superior level of work we do in preparing and painting homes and buildings in San Francisco:
Until 2006 we used Benjamin Moore and Pratt & Lambert. These two national brands continue to be our workhorse lines of choice because of the number of excellent products between them, and because we know exactly how they will perform.
C2 debuted in 2006. This ultra-premium line of latex paints in a gorgeous range of colors was developed using a European tinting system that has 16 colorants rather than the US industry-standard of twelve. Plus, C2 provides 18″ x 24″ poster-size paint chips so you can test colors at home without the mess of brushing out your walls.
Mythic Paints offers high quality zero-VOC, zero-toxin paints. We painted an entire house inside and out with these paints for a client that requested zero-VOC paint and we were very impressed.
COLOR CONSULTING & DESIGNERS:
If you need help choosing colors for the interior or exterior of your home or building, we recommend Nan Kornfeld. Her approach is direct, professional, yet personal and the results are beautiful. I really enjoy working with Nan and so have many of my clients.

The staff and the selection are top notch. They offer the best hand-done color matching in town. All the brands of paint that we use are represented here, except for Benjamin Moore, making color selection a one stop affair. In addition, Philip Reno, the owner of G&R, has developed his own line of tints called Philip’s Perfect Colors. They are full-spectrum (meaning that he uses only colors to make a color, no black or white colorants), the results are beautifully rich, complex shades that won’t fade or ‘chalk out’.
